Getting out into nature, hunting, and the camaraderie of working with others empowers a sense of normalcy and reduces the feelings that an injury dictates helplessness.

Isolation is a devastating condition that can lead to depression. NWLB organized a Potomac fishing trip with wounded warriors and disabled first responders for a day of outdoor therapy and community. The bonding experience from being on the water helps reduce the strain of isolation and can lead to sharing traumatic experiences on an individual’s road to recovery.
