Our Programs

Healing in the Great Outdoors – One Warrior at a Time

At No Warrior Left Behind, we’re on a mission to combat the silent wounds of isolation, depression, and trauma—one fishing trip, one duck hunt, and one shared laugh at a time.

We provide outdoor therapy and community-building experiences for wounded warriors and disabled first responders—helping them reconnect with purpose, people, and the power of nature.

Summer: Fishing for Connection

Each summer, we organize a Potomac River fishing trip designed to bring together warriors and first responders in a setting that fosters healing, camaraderie, and conversation. The peaceful rhythm of the water, paired with shared experience, helps participants open up, bond, and begin to move forward.

Winter: Duck Hunting for Recovery

In the colder months, NWLB sponsors a weekend duck hunting retreat on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. For many, it’s the first time they’ve felt normal, strong, and empowered since their injury. Working together in the field rebuilds confidence, restores pride, and fosters lasting friendships.

Competition & Camaraderie: Team Mullet

Because laughter is also powerful medicine, we created Team Mullet—a group of injured veterans and first responders who brought grit and good humor to the TOPSHOT shooting competition. They didn’t just compete—they dominated, proving that healing occurs when judgment is set aside and teamwork takes center stage.

Why It Matters

Injury doesn’t define these heroes, and recovery doesn’t always happen in a clinic. Sometimes, the most powerful kind of therapy comes from being outdoors, around others who understand, with a fishing rod or a shotgun in hand.
